Scope of Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply only to products sold directly by Soundmax through the official Soundmax website or in-store sales issued with a Soundmax invoice.

Products sold via third-party platforms (including Trade Me, Facebook Marketplace, private listings, or peer-to-peer transactions) are not covered by these Terms & Conditions, unless explicitly stated in writing by Soundmax at the time of sale.

Warranty & Coverage

All new products sold by Soundmax are covered by a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase. Repairs carried out for the same fault or component, as well as pre-owned products, are covered by a 6-month warranty.

Warranty claims must be supported by a valid invoice or proof of purchase. The warranty applies only when the product has been used under normal conditions and has not been physically damaged, modified, disassembled, or improperly stored. Any unauthorised tampering, alteration, or misuse that contributes to the fault may void the warranty. The warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect installation, accidents, power surges, electrical issues, or external factors beyond our control.

Returns, Exchanges & Refunds

Change-of-mind refunds may be requested within 14 days from the date of purchase, provided that the item is unused, in the same condition as received, and returned in its original packaging. All refund requests are subject to inspection and approval by Soundmax.

After 14 days, change-of-mind refunds are not available. However, products that remain within the applicable warranty period are still eligible for after-sales support and repair services in accordance with the warranty terms.

Clearance & Processed Items

Clearance, processed, or specially handled items are sold at a discounted price, any known defects will be disclosed prior to sale. Once sold, these items are not eligible for returns, exchanges, or refunds.

Removed Components

Soundmax provides sales and installation services only. We do not buy back removed components.

Installation Services – No Refund for Change-of-Mind

Installation services provided by Soundmax involve labour, technical expertise, and irreversible work once commenced. For this reason, installation and labour services are not eligible for change-of-mind cancellations, returns, or refunds once the service has started or has been completed.

Shipping Details

Local & Standard Shipping

Soundmax uses NZ Post to provide shipping services within New Zealand. Most orders are dispatched within one business day after payment is received. Once an order has been shipped, a tracking link will be provided where available.

Delivery timeframes are estimates only and may vary depending on courier services, destination, and other factors beyond our control.

International Shipping

If you are purchasing from overseas, please contact us directly to arrange international shipping. Shipping availability, costs, and delivery timeframes will be confirmed on a case-by-case basis prior to dispatch. International orders may be subject to customs duties, taxes, or clearance delays imposed by the destination country. These charges are not included in the product or shipping price.

Special Repair Parts & Overseas Orders

Certain repair services may require specialised components that are not held in local stock. In such cases, required parts may need to be sourced from overseas. The estimated delivery time for these components is generally up to 10 business days, although actual delivery times may vary depending on supplier availability and international shipping conditions.

Customers will be informed in advance if overseas sourcing is required before any repair work proceeds.

Custom, Special Order & Non-Standard Items

Some products, including custom orders or special model items, may require sourcing specifically for the customer. For these orders, a deposit of 20% to 50% of the total order value may be required prior to processing, depending on the the product.

Deposits confirm the order and allow procurement to commence. Once a custom or special order has been placed and processing has begun, deposits are non-refundable, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Estimated delivery timeframes for custom or special orders may vary and will be communicated at the time of order confirmation.

Shipping costs are non-refundable for change-of-mind returns. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty. For higher-value items, we recommend using a trackable shipping service. Soundmax cannot guarantee receipt of returned items without tracking.
